One of the most important aspects of membership in the Subcontractors Trade Association is the ability to make connections with key decision makers in the New York City construction industry. One of the many ways we do that is through our “speed meeting” events. Coming up in a few short days on October 30, we will be having our General Membership Meeting which will give members the opportunity to schedule one-on-one meetings with top officials from Plaza Construction, Skanska, STV, TDX and Turner. Our networking events have proved to help form career-long relationships between professionals working in all facets of the industry – from subcontractors to general contractors, from insurance brokers to lawyers. Please see below for more information on our October 30 Speed Meetings event.

Another way to meet decision makers in the public sector is to get involved in our Public Agencies committees. The STA sets up meetings throughout the year with agencies such as the School Construction Authority, the Department of Design & Construction and the New York City Housing Authority. At these meetings, STA members have a chance to bring up issues they may be dealing with on public projects or with the bidding process, and then get the unique opportunity of talking them through with the top officials at those agencies.

These are only a few of the ways we help you make connections through the STA. Please make sure to read STA emails, newsletters & memorandums to stay up to date on the meetings and events you are invited to.

I hope to see you at an STA event soon!

Thank you,

Robert Weiss
